The Turning Point 2

Read the first part here

Octavia!!!! Octavia!!!! He screamed into the air.

She had asked him to meet her here, this time today, but she’s nowhere to be found.

He knew it, he knew it wasn’t real, he knew it was the voice in his head that made him think he was talking to a genie. He actually believed it, he actually thought she was real, and thought today was the day all his worries and problems will be solved, but seems like it was all a lie.

He just fell to the ground, feeling down casted than ever, he started to hum a soft tune, as though trying to calm himself down ,

Then there was a great swirling, greater than before, this time he was scared, really scared, he was starting to think it’s a earthquake, cause it vibrated vigorously.

“Don’t be scared, I just wanted to pull through in a grand style” Octavia said.

He hasn’t been this happy before in his entire existence, he can’t believe the voice of a ‘not so inanimate object ‘ can make him this excited.

“So an inanimate object is what you see me as? I feel heartbroken “ she told him with her voice low and shaky.

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean it that way….” but his apologies was cut off by a sound of deafening laughter.

“I’m joking… I don’t have a heart, haha!!!!! Gotcha”

He was starting to get the humor, when suddenly, there was a change in the atmospheric condition, the sky darkened, followed by a set of thunder that shook everything, Mike thought it was going to rain, but to his surprise it was followed by a series of swear words coming from Octavia.

“Mike, we need to be quick.” She told him.

“Okay, so how do I do this? Do I need to close my eyes and stretch forth my hands?” He asked

“Nope, none of that, just tell me what you want, that’s all.”

“Okay I wish that……”

“Don’t wish for that!” Octavia snapped, interrupting him.

“That’s the only thing I want in the world, you can’t take that away from me.”

I can and I will Mike. There’s so much you can wish me for, but why that?”

“Because he has caused so much pain for my mother and I, and I just want him gone.”

“Gone or dead?” She asked with concern.

“Does it matter? I just want him out of our lives.”

“It does, so much hatred in your young heart child.”

“If you grew up the way I did, you’ll understand what I’m going through. Love and happiness is an illusion, a fantasy; something you only dream about” he sighed. Playing with the loose thread of his sweater.

“You don’t want to kill a man Mike, you don’t want to get your hands dirty.” She told him with concern laced in her tone.

“I’m not the one killing anyone , you are.” He shrugged , saying without thinking.

“Oh I see is that what this is about? While I’m at it, do you want me to clean your ass to?”

“Why do you like him anyway?” He asked. He was starting to be infuriated by her sudden interest in her mother’s boyfriend.

“You’re supposed to be on my side” he added.

” I don’t, I just don’t want you to regret this

Circumstances change people, and before you’re so quick to judge him, why don’t you offer him an olive branch and know why he’s the way he is”

“Are you saying I should get to know him?”

“What I’m saying is that you shouldn’t pass judgment without having to know the full story”

I know the full story alright . Ever since I’ve known him, he’s always saying rude things to my mother, and threatening to hit her ”

“I know I’m just saying he is the way he is for a reason.”

“Okay, I’d give him the chance.” He said after much considerations.

“Good, cause there’s a whole world out there for you to see, but I’m not going to make you ruin your only wish based on spite.”

“Okay you win, but I’m not sure you’re going to like what I’m going to ask for next” he said smirking.

“Well, yours is to wish, mine is to grant. I’m the Genie here remember?”

“Okay, then. From now, I want the rest of my wishes to be granted”

“I knew you’d ask for that, but on one condition,”

“What’s that?”

“Only good wishes”

“Only good wishes Octavia”
