3 Things Blogging Has Taught Me So Far || July 2019

Six months ago I gathered the courage to start a blog where I decided to share stories about my life experiences and personal thoughts.

So I can say that I’ve successfully been blogging for 6 months and 8 days now

Sprays confetti

Honestly i can’t believe I’ve gone half a year being a blogger. These past few months I have learned a lot of things about myself and things I need to improve on.

I’ve discovered a lot of things and blogging had taught me so many things these past few months but today I’m going to point out the 3 most important things.

1. Don’t compare

It isn’t rare for human beings to compare themselves with other people. I definitely struggled with that at the start of my blogging journey and I would be lying if I say I don’t still struggle with that sometimes. But what I’ve learned is; don’t.

Stop comparing yourself and your progress with other people. All fingers are not equal. Some things might work for a certain person and might not work for you and vice versa.

2. Be yourself.

When I started Cup Of Tee, I definitely struggled with my blog’s Identity, what I wanted to do with it and my blog’s style.

If you read my first blog post, which you can find here, and my previous blog post, which you can find here , my writing style has definitely changed and I’ve found a more comfortable tone.

I write how I speak and I learned that from one of my favorite bloggers.

Even the content I post, before I used to think too much before I published a blog post and I started to enjoy blogging less and that was just horrible.

My storytelling skills have definitely improved and I’m proud of myself for that.

Proud of myself

3. Don’t rush anything

This applies in different areas. But if you have a blog (or not) and you feel like you’re rushing yourself, calm down and take a breather.

When I started blogging, I wanted to do so many things and that’s not a bad thing, but I started to overwork myself and it became a little too much for me. I had to relax. I stopped enjoying storytelling and it started to feel like something I HAD to do, not something I WANTED to do.

I’m too young to be stressing myself abeg I’m a babygirl.

So I’ve decided to calm down and just remember why I started Cup Of Tee and why I enjoy running it.

I would like to say a big thank you to each and everyone of you who take your time to read my blog posts, leave a comment and even like! Thank you all so much cause it means so much to me.

Thank you

Let me know three things you have learned this year down in the comment section! 🖤

  1. First of, happy six months bloggoversary. One important thing in blogging (or general life) is finding your niche (tone) and sticking to it. It may take a while but you’ll sure find massive audience to your area of specialization. Keep going strong and many more years to your brand.
